Job Description

Equinox Media is looking for freelance writer/editor with a passion for fitness, health and wellness to work on the Content team to help bring to life editorial text, audio and video content to live on the Equinox+ app and social channels. Requirements and responsibilities include:

Responsibility

• Write/assign/edit stories for daily publication; topics of focus include food/recipes, fitness, science/medicine, Q&A/profiles, reported and news-driven pieces
• Passion for fitness, health, and wellness and it’s connection to culture
• Able to craft standalone content and work with internal subject matter experts to bring their ideas to life or edit articles they’ve written.
• Follows industry trends and has ideas on how to join or start a conversation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years experience in journalism/publishing with some digital focus
• Experience in assigning to and top-editing a stable of qualified writers
• A strong background in trend-spotting and reporting
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• A passion for idea generation and big thinking. Strong communicator and participant in brainstorms
• Experience with content management systems
• Demonstrated ability to communicate a brand/platform voice in content
• Experience using insights and SEO data to inform ideas
