Job Description

The Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for contacting developers and QA engineers to discuss and document the features and functionality of the Talend product range. This job is in Nantes, France.

The Documentation team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the growing R&D centers in Nantes or Suresnes.

The Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for liaising with developers and QA engineers in order to analyze and document the features and functionalities of the Talend product range, as well as working closely with other technical writers in the team (based in France and China) in order to deliver high-quality documentation in English.

Although this role is based in our Nantes or Suresnes offices, all Talend staff are currently working remotely because of the global health situation and interviews will also be carried out remotely.


  • Design, create and continuously improve technical documentation in English for a variety of audiences;
  • Engage with engineers, product managers, technical SMEs and other technical writing team members to ensure the technical accuracy of the documentation;
  • Advocate for users in everything you write;
  • Contribute actively to maintaining and improving the team’s tooling, methodology and processes, and be a source of new ideas;
  • Support content needs on various projects within the R&D organization.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent English writing skills;
  • extensive experience of documenting both developer and end-user products;
  • Experience in, or strong affinity with, the IT industry; experience in documenting APIs and/or UI/UX writing would be a plus;
  • Familiarity with an XML authoring and editing tool and solid experience of DITA or lightweight authoring environments and associated documentation frameworks;
  • College degree or equivalent;
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment both individually and as part of a team;
  • Experience of working with a distributed team;
  • Fluency in French is desirable but not mandatory.
