Job Description

The technical writer will manage the growing library of technical material for the products.

LetsGetChecked is becoming a global leader in personal health testing. Our medical technology platform provides connectivity between customers and our global network of laboratories. We are enabling customers to order, manage and track their own clinical outcomes through a personal online account.

Our Technical Writer will manage our growing library of technical collateral for our products. These products drive our core mission of empowering individuals, corporations, universities, public sector, and health insurance companies to use technology in a simple but powerful way to give them greater control of their healthcare needs. You will be at the intersection of our business, technology, and products. You will be deeply experienced in at least two, passionate about all three, and conversant with stakeholders in all.

You will join us to establish this new discipline in our rapidly growing technology organisation. Our platform resides fully in the Cloud (AWS), operates in dozens of markets globally and focuses on ease of use for our customers along with integrity & security for the data they trust us with.

Position Description

  • Work with our Engineers, Product Managers and other subject matter experts to understand our product domain and create documentation for inside the organization and for our clients (both technical and non-technical audiences)
  • Supporting the researching, writing, editing, proofreading and coordination of product and feature documentation for diverse audiences
  • Ability to articulate (in writing and verbally) complex technical concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Manage all technical collateral required for new product launches
  • Work with our Client Success, Customer Care, and Product teams to identify knowledge gaps and build programs to address those gaps
  • Drive continuous improvement processes for content quality and writer productivity
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure that the documentation is valuable to the intended audience
  • Scope and prioritize needs across our products and teams
  • Work with autonomy to find solutions to complex problems and be flexible and responsive to changing requirements and priorities
  • The ability for critical thinking outside your immediate sphere of responsibility
  • Have experience with commercial products and environments (not just internally focused)
  • Have a collaborative working style

Requirements

  • BA or Masters in English, Journalism, Communications (or a related field) or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years technical communications experience
  • Exceptional writing, editing, research, and proofreading skills including superior command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and composition
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of text, tables, diagrams and other graphics, and appendices for correctness, completeness, organization, clarity, consistency, grammar, and conformity
  • Capable of writing for technical or scientific audiences
  • Ability to translate technical jargon into plain language
  • Experience incorporating diagrams and/or graphics to enhance or simplify the narrative
  • Experience working directly with commercial and customer success teams, engineers, and product managers
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Passionate, open-minded, and results-driven
  • Proven experience designing, planning, and delivering content solutions that meet the needs of customers or other stakeholders
  • Proactive and self-sufficient, with strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to break down and clearly define problems
  • Ability to establish credibility, build relationships, and work collaboratively at all levels
  • Passion for best quality practice and continuous professional development

What We Expect From You

Not Hard Requirements But Nice to Have

  • Experience working in rapidly growing, fast paced, startup environments
  • Experience with and understanding of high-tech companies
  • Previous experience working in an agile environment
  • Proficiency with Office Suites (e.g. from Microsoft, Google) and content management tools or wiki’s (e.g. Confluence) or similar. Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and other graphic programs a plus
  • Experience writing technical marketing communications
  • Experience with the principles of content management and information architecture
  • US Healthcare or Life Sciences experience.
