The Dennis Publishing Group (“Dennis”) comprises Dennis Publishing Ltd in the UK, The Week Publications, Inc. in New York, and Kiplinger in Washington D.C.
Based on an aggregation format, *The Week *curates and distills news, opinion, and ideas from the U.S. and international media in our own voice and style to provide readers with “all they need to know about everything that matters.’’ The magazine's coverage is broad, encompassing domestic and international news, politics, and cultural commentary.
We are now looking for a smart, nimble writer with strong news experience for our national news and opinion magazine.
Our writer/editors survey a wide range of sources to help determine the topics we write about each week and turn large files of original news stories and commentaries into sharp, succinct, lively summaries for our busy readers.
We are nonpartisan, and the emphasis is on making sense of the news by blending and contrasting the opinions of a variety of columnists from the left, right, and center.
Our writing requires compression, clarity, wit, and brevity, and is not easy to do well.
The ideal candidate will be able to write quickly and engagingly about anything and everything and will have at least three years’ experience covering news.
The ideal applicant is a confident, self-starting news junkie who can study and adapt to The Week’s unique voice and style, and write accurate, engaging, concise copy.
We provide a highly competitive compensation and benefits packages (401K contribution and healthcare) plus a supportive environment for quality work, professional development and a healthy work/life balance.
The Week is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we’re proud to foster and promote an environment of inclusivity.
