We are looking for a highly talented science writer to be part of the Scientific Communications team within Scientific Affairs. A candidate with experience preparing literature reviews and scientific manuscripts would be considered. As a successful candidate you will work in a highly collaborative environment to effectively communicate Illumina clinical data worldwide.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare scientific literature summaries for regulatory activities
- Perform regular literature searches to support post-market surveillance activities
- Prepare monthly dashboards for internal communications to leadership
- Support processes around evaluation and management of investigator-led collaborations
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Work with internal stakeholders, external authors, and medical writers to help prepare oral presentations, posters, congress abstracts, and peer-reviewed journal articles
- Coordinate internal and external reviews of documents
Education and Experience
- Doctoral-level degree in biomedical sciences (PhD, PharmD)
- Excellent writing and editing skills with experience as a medical or scientific writer
- Experience preparing literature summaries for a range of audiences
- Experience preparing manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in or knowledge of genomics
- Expertise in MS Word and EndNote (or other reference software)
- Knowledge of good publication practices and guidelines (GPP3, ICMJE)
- Experience preparing figures using programs such as Adobe Illustrator is desirable
- Aptitude for a fast-paced team environment, partnering with a diverse group of people across multiple locations
- Excellent oral and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, self-motivation, creativity
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with excellent time and project management
- Ability to balance competing priorities and opinions, and deal with ambiguous or missing information
- Ability to build effective relationships and work with global medical thought leaders
