Free Agency is a talent startup modernizing how people find and succeed at work. We provide concierge services and digital products to knowledge workers, mirroring Hollywood-style talent representation and management.
We’ve started with the tech industry. Through our platform, mid to C-level folks in product, engineering, design, marketing, and ops are finding great jobs, making more money, becoming high-performing leaders, and massively accelerating their career trajectory.
Our clients are doing incredible work at companies like Square, Drift, Roblox, Reddit, Netflix, Amazon, SpaceX, Notion, Peloton, and hundreds more. We’re backed by top-tier venture capital firms like Resolute Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, and Ludlow Ventures.
Intent is a new digital publication by Free Agency, launching soon. Its mission is to give intentional people news, analysis, and perspectives to help them make smarter decisions about career, business, and life. We define “intentional people” as those who are captains of their own boats, hands on the rudder, sometimes even providing their own wind. They do not just let the current take them where it wants to go.
Intent’s first product will be a daily newsletter covering the startup and tech ecosystem with a focus on careers, business, and lifestyle. The freelance newsletter writer will initially help develop the newsletter and then help write it once launched. This is a part-time position, ideal for an established technology freelancer who wants a steady income to backstop their other work. The job will be about 10-15 hours a week. Competitive pay.
- Contribute to the initial development phase of the newsletter, helping craft something uniquely compelling in a sea of tech newsletters.
- Write daily first drafts for the newsletter; details of the newsletter and the workload will be discussed in interviews, but it should take about 2-3 hours per day, five days a week.
- Some technology journalism experience.
