Job Description

As a B2G bid writer, you will be responsible for writing persuasive, compelling, clear and concise content, following the bidding process from end to end, ensuring that all activities are coordinated and follow the agreed review and approval process, etc.

HealthHero’s B2G Bid Team tenders for multi-million-pound contracts with the NHS to provide Integrated Urgent Care Services as well as a range of digital and other healthcare solutions. To support HealthHero’s ambitious plans for our B2G division, the NHS Bid Team now needs an exceptional Bid Writer to support our continued growth.

You will be instrumental in winning new NHS business for HealthHero.

As a B2G Bid Writer You Will Be Responsible For

  • Writing persuasive, compelling, clear, and concise bespoke content for Invitation to Tenders (ITTs)
  • Following the end-to-end bid process, ensuring all activity is co-ordinated and follows our agreed review and sign-off process
  • Reading and understanding all bid documentation, including detailed service specifications
  • Completing Standard Questionnaires (SQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Developing trusted relationships with a variety of internal SMEs and facilitating the development of high quality bid content
  • Undertaking detailed pre-bid research and, when required, attending market engagement events to gain an in-depth understanding of Commissioner’s needs, and network as appropriate
  • Preparing for, attending and contributing to bid strategy and launch meetings
  • Contributing to the identification and development of bid win themes, ensuring we exceed commissioners’ requirements and are differentiated from our competitors
  • Attending and contributing to the bid de-brief process, ensuring our bid process and strategy continuously improves
  • Providing effective support and cover for the Bid Manager and Bid Coordinator roles as and when required
  • Enhancing our bid library content and management systems


To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Self-starter with initiative / ability to think creatively
  • Knowledge of public sector tender process
  • Minimum three-years’ experience as a bid writer within healthcare (Integrated Urgent Care experience will be strong advantage)
  • Skilled writer, with ability to write persuasively, clearly, and concisely
  • Skilled editor and proof-reader
  • Meticulous spelling and grammar
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi-task, organise, and prioritise
  • IT literate – intermediate level minimum
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with people at all levels of the business, provide constructive feedback and challenge thinking
  • High level of enthusiasm, motivation and flexibility
  • Ability to work individually and within a team, fostering good working relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and to immovable deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes in workloads / priorities
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion
  • An awareness of, and commitment to, supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
